“There,” David said with a smile. “I am done.”

“And just in time too,” said a voice behind him. David whirled around and there stood his friend Charles.

“Why do you say that, Charles?” David asked with a confused expression on his face.

“Don’t you remember?” Charles said. “We are going on our fishing trip.

“Ooh...” David said. “I…well forgot.”

“Forgot!” Charles said!

“Well, yes,” David said weakly.

“But we have planning this trip for days!” said Charles.

“Oh, yes!” said David. “Of course I remember. “It just slipped from my mind a minute because I was so busy. I remember now, though.”

“Good.” said Charles. “We must be leaving soon.”

“Okay,” said David. “I will be ready in a second.”

“What do you have to do?” Asked Charles. “Well, I need to get packed and you can get the boat ready.” A few minutes later……… “Are you ready”? David called to Charles.

“Yep,” replied Charles.

“Okay then, let’s go” David said. An hour later……

“I got five fish” yelled Charles.

“Me to,” called David.

“Let’s go down stream,” Charles said.

“Okay,” David said. “My dad has a house down there,” David said.

“Really?” Charles said.

“Yep,” replied David. “There it is!” David yelled!

“Wow! Your dad sure keeps it nice.” Charles said.

“That is not my dad.” David said.

“Let’s take a look inside.” Charles said.

“Why not?” David said.

“Okay let’s go!” Charles urged. They dashed up the stairs and open the door. A scream filled the air

“Oh no!” yelled David.

“Run!” Charles said. They ran up-stairs, down-stairs, saying “RUN!” until….. “Look here is a closet, let’s get inside.” Charles said.

A few minutes’ later……

“Wow, let’s get out of here,” David said.

“I agree,” Charles said.

Two hours latter……

“So that’s what happened, Dad,” David said.

“Okay,” Dad said. “I’ll give them a call, but you two need to go to bed! It’s eight-thirty.”

“Okay, Dad, good night.” David said. David went to bed wondering what excitement would come tomorrow.
