“Stretch out!” It was the call they had waited for for one month. As the wagon train started, John rode quickly up to the wagon. As the day was about to end, a lookout, out of breath, came up.
“INDANS!” He shouted. John cocked his gun. As the Indians came over, the men fired. The Indians took one look and went away, so little by little they got there. As the wagon train came over the ridge, people threw their hats in the air. Soon they had there claim. The more they worked, the better it looked.
One day as John rode his horse, a band of Indians attacked. As they rode toward him, he fired. With a yell they rode toward him, he again fired. Still they came on. Again and again he fired. Then they stopped and started drawing. He came and there was a peace sign!
